We met for the first time at a 5k run in Burns, Oregon on June 2001. 15.5 years later, we celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. It’s been a wonderful journey filled with joy, tears, laughter, and many firsts.
Marriage is nothing to take lightly as it’s a public, and legal, commitment to each other. Through it all, you’ve said ” I’m here to experience life together and support each other”. It’s one of those experiences that is full of unknowns from the start but you know you want to experience those unknowns together. I didn’t know how our relationship would look after adding a couple kids to the equation, moving from state to state for work and school, experiencing loss of family or friends, traveling and living in Armenia, or doing the daily grind 13 years later. But that’s ok. We’d figure it out.
It’s full of compromise, smiles, give and take, delicious food, teaching and learning, and a little bit of winging it. So far, so good.
