“1976 marked the bicentennial of the United States of America. Festivities all over America marked the occasion. Washington, DC was going to hold an elaborate fireworks display. Queen Elizabeth II made a special State visit to attend festivities with President Ford. Disneyland temporarily changed it’s Main Street Electrical Parade to America on Parade……and the Holt Family was hitting the road to experience it all!”
A few years ago I spent a few weeks making this video. It was originally all shot on Super 8 film. Back in the 90’s it was transferred to a VHS tape. I transferred the VHS to a MP4. I added a few titles, selected music (mostly from the 1970s), and packaged it all in a nice DVD case with a custom label. I gave it as a gift to my family so they could enjoy the memories. This was my first large video project which I’m very proud of.
Except for a few seconds here and there to match music with video footage, the movie contains all the original video shot on the road trip. The video is about 1 hour 10 minutes so you’ll want to kick back and relax to watch the entire video.
